Additional Information on the Märklin DL800

The locomotive was sold with a set of user-installed pantographs
(which were often not installed and were then misplaced and lost)

The DL800 was offered in green from 1949 to 1954
and in brown from 1955 to 1957

While there is no US prototype locomotive identical to
the DL800, it appears to be based on the ALCO PA
